Halloween

Hi everyone,
Here's the star of the hour in her special angel-mosquito pose. See more below.

Here's Lola with Josh outside the assisted living place that hosts trick-or-treat.
This little girl looked just like Snow White!
Here I am with Lola.
Here's Lola breaking away from the apron strings.
Here are some rude uncostumed kids with their embarrassed handlers, who dressed up to (over)compensate!
Believe it or not, this pirate ship belongs to our three-blocks -away neighbor. The house behind it is real, though.
Here's Lola enjoying the afterparty, held in her carseat.

Lola with Broom; Abdiel's Leap

Today we had wonderful weather, and we all went for a walk at about 4:30 p.m. We ended up at the elementary school playground, where Lola enjoyed the slides. Lola asked if her dog Abdiel could come up and slide too. Abdiel is eleven years old, but he has always been an Olympian, and certainly puts to shame our three year old fatty-dog Star. Abdiel walked up the stairs with Josh's aid, and then slid about a meter down the slide. From about four feet up, he launched himself with his hind legs, in perfect form, six feet forward and down to a landing in the playground sand. As Bela would say, "He stuck it."--Kathryn

Lola's Intellectual Habits

Lola's teacher Miss Heather tells us that often, while the other 18-24 month olds are roaring around the classroom (I believe some call it "playing"), Lola will sit with Miss Heather and they will talk and practice counting. What a genius our daughter is!--Kathryn

Lola at the Pumpkin Patch

Here are pictures of Countess Featherston (Lola to her friends) at the pumpkin farm. She had a great time! See captions below.

Check out this baby in the road (not Lola). I know all of our coastal readers have just had every anti-Southern prejudice confirmed.
This is Lola's first real-live horse encounter.
And here's her first real-live cow.

Lola Kate Goes to Her First Shakespeare Event

Hi everyone,
Today Lola attended the Clayton State University production "Shakespeare on the Green." Her dad patiently watched her for about 6 hours while the production went forward (I was organizing the production). Photos are captioned below.--Kathryn

Historic Occasion! Lucky Thirteen and Blog Author Change

Dear friends and relatives:

This morning, I correctly counted up to "13" while looking at pages of a photo album with Mommy. Since I can now speak in sentences and count, Mommy has promised to stop masquerading as me. Therefore, she will now use her own voice on this blog. Friends, I've enjoyed being your virtual reality "Lola Kate," but the real Lola Kate is far superior. Love, Virtual Lola Kate

Auntie in the Genes

Dear friends,
Tonight, after my bath, I was running around with this towel cape on my head. Mommy called me a superhero, and I started screeching "Superhero!" over and over as I "flew " around the room. Now I don't really know what a superhero is, but I hear that my Auntie Rosslyn is downright obsessed with them. But lest you think I am my Auntie's changeling, in the last picture posted below I look just like my Daddy. Love, LK
