A Lucky Guess

I gave Lola's four and a half year-old friend Andy a book from the "Magic Tree House" series as his party favor for Lola's birthday. I guessed that his giftedness would make the series fascinating for him, even though they are recommended for grades 1-3. I was right! His parents report that he is now a fan of the series. (He says so too, and Andy doesn't lie.) So it's confirmed: read the Magic Tree House series to gifted preschoolers who cannot yet read at that level for themselves. Andy is a discriminating consumer!--K
